Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, NC, USA

Buncombe County is one of the many stops that you will find on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The parkway stretches from West Virginia to North Carolina and is one of the most well built and maintained roads in the US. The parkway curves around the Blue Ridge Mountains so that you can take in the scenery while you go for a cruise. The parkway also has stops that are perfect for picnickers, all you have to do is stop, settle down and enjoy a picnic as you take in the serene surroundings.
Make sure to keep your wits about you though because GPS is unreliable in these parts. Keep a careful watch on the milepost system because that is the only reliable way to guide yourself down this magnificent piece of asphalt. You should also take care if you are driving in the winter or early spring because the roads are often closed because of ice buildup in the tunnels.
